DOWNINGTOWN, PASow Good Now has announced an $8,500 grant from The Foxwynd Foundation, a move set to bolster the nonprofit’s mission of empowering young people through sports and community engagement.

The funding will specifically support the organization’s GiveBack programs, which introduce sports to children in underserved communities—many of whom previously lacked access to these activities. By combining athletic training with lessons in giving back, the initiative aims to foster not only physical skills but also leadership and civic responsibility among participants.

Mary Fischer-Nassib, president and co-founder of Sow Good Now, emphasized the broader impact of investing in young people. “When we invest in young people, we don’t just change their lives—we empower them to change the world,” she said. “Sow Good Now is proof that when youth are given the opportunity to give back, they grow into compassionate leaders our communities need.”

Pamela Villagra, executive director of The Foxwynd Foundation, underscored the foundation’s belief in early interventions that shape future leaders. “We are proud to support Sow Good Now as they open new doors for young people to discover their strengths, build confidence, and connect with their communities in meaningful ways,” Villagra said. “At Foxwynd, we believe in the power of early opportunities—and Sow Good Now brings that belief to life through action.”

Founded as a 501(c)(3) public charity, Sow Good Now pairs high school and college athletes with youth from underserved areas. Through shared experiences in sports, participants learn about philanthropy and community involvement, developing habits of generosity and service that extend far beyond the playing field.
