WAYNE, PA — The Drishti Foundation will host its annual Drishti Dash 5K/1K Run/Walk on September 7, 2025, at Wilson Farm Park in Wayne, raising funds to support blind and visually impaired individuals through education, training, and essential resources.

Founded by a group of dedicated middle and high school students, Drishti aims to empower those with vision loss while fostering a spirit of service among volunteers of all ages. The event’s mission is underscored by Helen Keller’s words: “Because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.”

Over the years, proceeds from the Drishti Dash have helped fund college scholarships, hands-on science kits, essential electronic equipment, Braille resources, vocational training, preventive vision care, and mobility education. The organization has also supported dialysis patients, created job opportunities, and run volunteer programs offering direct assistance.

Drishti’s outreach extends beyond the race. The nonprofit has organized fundraisers for cataract surgeries in underserved communities, scholarships and medical care for blind children, and COVID-19 relief efforts, including medical equipment donations to specialized schools.

Collaborations have included partnerships with local and national organizations such as the Chester County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Royer-Greaves School for the Blind, Vision Corps, the American Council for the Blind, and the Children’s Eye Foundation. Internationally, Drishti has supported schools for blind children in India and Nepal, sponsoring educational tools and accessibility resources.
