WEST BRANDYWINE, PA — Residents and staff at Freedom Village at Brandywine rallied in recent weeks to support local families, delivering a significant boost to Reeceville Elementary School’s annual “Project Snowflake” holiday initiative.
The community collected more than 140 toys and over $350 in gift cards, donations aimed at helping families with children ages three through 12 during the holiday season. The contributions were delivered directly to Reeceville Elementary, located just across the street from Freedom Village.
Project Snowflake is designed to ensure that children and families facing financial hardship receive gifts and essential items during the holidays, relying heavily on support from local organizations and community partners.
“Giving back is an important part of who we are,” said Freedom Village Executive Director Danielle Geyer. “We are grateful for the opportunity to support our neighbors and help brighten the season for local families. The generosity shown by our residents and staff speaks to the strong community spirit at Freedom Village.”
School officials say contributions like these are critical to meeting growing needs each year, particularly as more families rely on community-based support programs during the holidays.
For Freedom Village, the effort reflects a broader commitment to local engagement, turning proximity into partnership and ensuring the spirit of the season reaches families just beyond its doorstep.
