WEST CHESTER, PA — State Senator Carolyn Comitta is encouraging community members to support students impacted by crime through a backpack drive for The Crime Victims Center of Chester County (CVC).
The initiative aims to ensure that children from families receiving services from the CVC are equipped with the school supplies they need to start the academic year strong.
“As our students begin to gather supplies for the upcoming school year, we are making sure that the children in families served by the Crime Victims Center have all the supplies they need for a successful year of learning,” said Comitta, who serves on the Senate Education Committee.
New, unused backpacks can be donated at Comitta’s district office, located at 17 E. Gay Street in West Chester. Donations will be accepted through Friday, August 1. A collection box is available on the first floor of the office.
The backpacks will be distributed at the CVC’s annual Back to School Drive on Saturday, August 9. Current and former CVC clients interested in attending must RSVP by contacting reception@cvcofcc.org for registration information.
