WEST CHESTER, PA — The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center (AHMEC) is set to host an inspiring event, PRIDE: LGBTQ+ Voices in Aviation!, on Saturday, June 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. The event aims to celebrate diversity and inclusivity in aviation while providing an opportunity for students, aviation enthusiasts, and professionals to connect with key LGBTQ+ organizations and industry leaders.

Participants will have the chance to engage with various organizations, including the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, Association of Flight Attendants, PFLAG – West Chester Chapter, West Chester University’s Center for Trans and Queer Advocacy, and the LGBT Equality Alliance of Chester County. These groups will offer valuable resources and professional connections for attendees interested in fostering inclusivity and supporting LGBTQ+ representation in the aviation industry.

A special highlight of the event is a presentation by Keturah Johnson, a U.S. combat veteran and International Vice President of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA. Johnson, who also serves as the National Executive Board Secretary for Pride at Work, will speak at 3 p.m. about her experiences and insights on promoting equality within the aviation industry, followed by a Q&A session open to all visitors.

This family-friendly event is open to the public during normal museum hours and is geared toward individuals of all ages. General museum admission covers entry, with free access for museum members.
