EXTON, PA — One of Chester County’s signature charity golf events delivered another strong showing this year, as the 39th Annual Hankin Invitational raised $370,000 to support Handi-Crafters, Inc., a nonprofit that provides employment opportunities and support services for individuals with disabilities.
Hosted on October 6 at Whitford Country Club and co-sponsored by Hankin Group and Bentley Systems (NASDAQ: BSY), the tournament drew more than 230 golfers and nearly 100 sponsors. With this year’s results, the event has generated a cumulative $3 million for Handi-Crafters since 2014, underscoring its growing influence as a major philanthropic fixture in the region.
“Supporting Handi-Crafters reflects our company’s values and longstanding commitment to strengthening the communities where we live and work,” said Bob Hankin, president and CEO of Hankin Group. He noted that the tournament continues to show what can be accomplished when the business community rallies around a shared mission.
The day’s highlights included a sold-out helicopter ball drop featuring 1,000 golf balls, on-course contests, raffle baskets, and a chance to win a Ford Mustang courtesy of Brian Hoskins Ford. Guests also enjoyed food and beverage stations throughout the course, including the popular Half-Way House sponsored by Hilton Garden Inn Exton–West Chester. PGA Long-Drive Champion Jeff “Critter” Crittenden made a guest appearance, adding to the event’s draw.
April Ennis-Pierson, executive director of Handi-Crafters, said the continuing support from sponsors and participants creates meaningful opportunities for the individuals the organization serves. “We couldn’t be more proud, humbled, and blessed by the continued commitment of Hankin Group and Bentley Systems,” she said.
With another year of successful fundraising, the Hankin Invitational remains a cornerstone of Chester County’s corporate philanthropy landscape, helping Handi-Crafters expand its mission and impact across the community.
