Youth Crime Shock: Armed Robberies in Coatesville Lead to Juvenile Arrests

COATESVILLE, PA — Coatesville authorities have reported multiple arrests in a string of armed robberies across the city, involving juveniles as young as 10 years old. The incidents, which occurred between April 23 and April 28, 2025, are still under investigation as police work to identify additional suspects.

According to the Coatesville Police Department, the series of robberies unfolded at various locations, including 5th Avenue at Olive Street, the 200 block of East Lincoln Highway, Gateway Park, and Ash Park. The crimes reportedly involved the use of weapons, and the charges brought against the juveniles include armed robbery, aggravated assault, and other related offenses.

On Thursday, April 24, law enforcement announced the arrest of five juveniles in connection with the robberies. Among them, two are being charged as adults due to the severity of the allegations. The ages of those arrested range from 10 to 15 years old, highlighting a troubling trend of youth involvement in serious criminal activity.

Most recently, on April 28, three additional juveniles were detained and are currently being held at the Chester County Youth Detention Center. Their level of involvement is under review, as detectives from the Coatesville Police Department continue to collect evidence and piece together the events surrounding the robberies.

Detectives Mollichella and Corcoran, who are leading the investigation, confirmed that more arrests are expected as the inquiry progresses. Authorities have emphasized their commitment to addressing the series of incidents and ensuring safety within the community.

Law enforcement officials stated that the investigation is ongoing and that they will follow every lead to hold those responsible accountable.
