Wyomissing Police Respond to Thefts, Traffic Violations and Alarms

WYOMISSING, PA — Wyomissing police responded to 26 incidents on Monday, February 17, including a reported retail theft, multiple traffic stops and several burglar alarm activations, according to a department blotter report.

Police reported that officers were dispatched to the 100 block of State Hill Road at 2:48 p.m. for a retail theft involving $150, according to the blotter. The disposition was listed as follow-up.

At 11:27 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near Cambridge Avenue and Reading Boulevard for window tint violations. The driver was warned, and “Act 64” narcotics were recovered, police stated.

Several additional traffic stops throughout the day resulted in warnings or citations for alleged violations including expired registration, expired inspection and emission, lighting violations and speeding, according to the report.

Police also responded to multiple burglar alarms on Berkshire Boulevard and Berkshire Court during the evening hours. In each case, officers reported that exterior doors were secure and no signs of disturbance were observed.

Earlier in the day, officers assisted other agencies, including Muhlenberg Township Police with a reported domestic incident involving a vehicle that was not located, and Spring Township police with a retail theft in their jurisdiction, police said.

Additional calls included a reported fraud complaint on Reading Boulevard, a disabled mobility scooter on Old Wyomissing Road and a disorderly conduct report involving juveniles on Penn Avenue, according to the blotter.

Police cleared each incident, with dispositions including warnings, citations, false alarms or no further action, the report stated.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
