Wyomissing Police Respond to 17 Calls in Busy Day

WYOMISSING, PA — Wyomissing Police handled 17 incidents on Thursday, February 20, 2026, including traffic violations, alarms, roadway hazards, and a reported mental health emergency, according to the department’s daily blotter.

Shortly after 1 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near Spring Street and Park Road North for faulty equipment and issued a warning, police stated.

At about 3 a.m., police stopped a vehicle near 8th Avenue and Hill Avenue for failing to maintain its lane and a broken windshield. The operator was cited for driving without insurance, according to the report.

Around 9:25 a.m., officers responded to a burglar alarm on State Hill Road. Police reported the alarm was audible, but all doors and windows appeared secure.

Just before 11 a.m., officers were dispatched to Papermill Road for a report of a female yelling inside an establishment. Police stated the complainant did not wish to pursue action and only requested that the female leave the area.

Minutes later, police responded to Van Reed Road for a report involving a female experiencing mental health issues. The individual was transported to a hospital by emergency medical services, according to the blotter.

Police were also dispatched to multiple automatic fire alarms on Knitting Mills Drive and Papermill Road, which were determined to be false alarms or handled by the Wyomissing Fire Department, the report states.

At approximately 1:36 p.m., officers were called to Route 422 near Route 222 for a tire in the roadway. Police located and removed the hazard.

Later in the afternoon, officers assisted with a reported hit-and-run crash near Parkside Drive North and Park Road South. Police determined the incident occurred in West Reading’s jurisdiction and contacted West Reading police to respond.

In the evening hours, officers addressed a roadway concern on Woodland Road after utility work left what police described as an insufficient repair and a small pothole.

Additional traffic stops were conducted on Berkshire Boulevard and Woodland Road for lighting violations and suspended registration, with warning notices issued, police stated.

At approximately 7:58 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle crash with no reported injuries in The Works parking lot on Bern Road. Police reported one vehicle struck another while exiting the lot.

Police also responded to a 911 hang-up call on Berkshire Boulevard and searched the area, reporting no emergency was located.

The day concluded with a late-night alarm call on Woodland Road, where officers reported the exterior of the business was secure and nothing suspicious was observed.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
