WYOMISSING, PA — Wyomissing police officers logged 629 calls for service in December 2025, made 22 adult arrests, investigated 62 vehicle crashes, and closed the year with a 76 percent overall clearance rate, according to the Police Chief and Mayor’s Report submitted to Borough Council.
The department reported 3,294 available on-duty hours during the month. Of that time, officers dedicated 18.7 percent to traffic enforcement and observation, 26.1 percent to follow-up investigations, and 12.5 percent to routine patrol, reflecting a continued emphasis on proactive policing and case resolution.
Business and commercial districts accounted for 152 calls — 24 percent of the total monthly call volume — while residential communities generated 33 calls, or 5.2 percent. Officers responded to incidents in retail corridors including Berkshire Mall, Berkshire Boulevard, and State Hill Road, as well as in community living areas such as Wynnewood Apartments and The Highlands.
The average response time for the 629 calls was 4.14 minutes, and officers spent an average of 22.88 minutes on each assignment. Training during the month included domestic violence recognition and cybersecurity-focused phishing awareness.
In terms of enforcement activity, officers issued 63 citations and 53 warnings in December. Four parking citations were also issued. For the year, the department reported 1,262 citations and 1,033 warnings.
Police investigated 62 motor vehicle crashes in December — 24 reportable, 37 non-reportable, and one pedestrian-involved crash — with no fatalities. Year-to-date crashes totaled 650.
Criminal offenses reported during the month included one robbery, five burglaries, three larcenies, one vehicle theft, two fraud cases, eight vandalism incidents, one weapons offense, four sex offenses, three narcotics offenses, two DUI-related offenses, and multiple disorderly conduct and liquor law violations. In total, 14 Part I and Part II crimes were recorded for December, bringing the year-to-date total to 446.
According to Uniform Crime Reporting data included in the report, 205 Part I offenses and 241 Part II offenses were recorded in 2025. Of those, 338 were cleared, resulting in a 76 percent overall clearance rate. The end-of-year clearance rate improved to 77 percent, compared to 75 percent in 2024 and 73 percent in 2023.
Arrest data for December shows 22 adult arrests and no juvenile arrests. One wanted subject was taken into custody during the month.
Police also participated in community engagement initiatives, including two “Shop With-A-Cop” events in December, and conducted enforcement details targeting vehicles passing stopped school buses. No violations were observed during those operations.
Additional administrative updates included the graduation of two officers from the police academy and the hiring of a new officer scheduled to begin academy training in January.
Fuel consumption for the month totaled 902.7 gallons, with police vehicles traveling 7,749 miles. The department reported $16,430.68 in collected fines, reimbursements, and related revenue during December.
