Wyomissing Driver Cited, Vehicle Towed After Suspensions

WYOMISSING, PA — A driver was cited and had her vehicle towed Saturday evening after Wyomissing Police determined her license was under multiple suspensions during a traffic stop, according to the department’s February 21, 2026, blotter.

At approximately 6:52 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Ramp T near Route 222 for lighting violations, police stated. During the stop, officers determined the sedan had a “dead” registration status, the operator presented an expired insurance policy, and her driving privileges were under multiple suspensions. Citations were issued, and the vehicle was removed by a towing service, according to the report.

Earlier that morning, at about 2:16 a.m., police responded to a motion-triggered burglar alarm on State Hill Road. Officers reported the exterior of the business was secure, and nothing suspicious was noted. A separate alarm later that morning on the same roadway was also cleared after officers found the doors secure, police stated.

Around 2:24 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Penn Avenue for a lane movement violation. The operator was warned, according to the blotter.

At approximately 8:48 a.m. and again at 10:48 a.m., police responded to additional burglar alarm activations on State Hill Road and Spring Street. In both cases, officers reported that doors and windows were secure and no further action was required.

At 11:25 a.m., officers were dispatched to Penn Avenue for a report of a female soliciting money and allegedly becoming aggressive when customers refused. Police stated the individual was identified and left the area without further incident.

Police also responded to several 911 hang-up calls throughout the day on State Hill Road, Berkshire Boulevard, and Park Road North. In one case, officers were unable to make contact with the caller. In another, staff at a location reported the call was an accidental dial by children playing with a phone. No emergencies were located, according to the blotter.

Shortly before noon, officers investigated a two-vehicle crash on Penn Avenue. Police reported there were no injuries and no towing was required.

At approximately 1:08 p.m., police responded to Knitting Mills Way for a reported hit-and-run. A complainant told officers her parked vehicle was struck, but there was no information available on the striking vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Later in the afternoon, officers were dispatched to Route 422 near North Wyomissing Boulevard for an object in the roadway. The object was moved to the side of the road, police stated. A separate incident at the same location involved a complainant who struck an unknown object, resulting in vehicle damage. The vehicle was towed by a private company, and no injuries were reported.

Throughout the evening, officers conducted multiple additional traffic stops on Berkshire Boulevard, State Hill Road, Museum Road, Hobart Avenue, and other locations for violations including expired registration, expired inspection, traffic signal violations, speeding, and disregarding posted signs. Police stated citations and warnings were issued in those cases.

Police also responded to automatic fire alarms on Park Road South and Cheltenham Drive. In one case, fire personnel determined burnt food triggered the alarm. In another, the complainant requested cancellation while officers were en route.

Officers investigated multiple reports of reckless drivers on Route 222 and Penn Avenue during the late evening hours. In those instances, vehicles were either no longer in the area or found to be operating without issue, according to the blotter.

In total, Wyomissing Police handled 27 incidents on February 21, 2026, according to the department’s daily report.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
