WILMINGTON, DE — A woman is facing felony charges after police said an investigation into a cutting incident led to her arrest days later.
According to Wilmington Police, officers responded March 20 at approximately 1:46 a.m. to Wilmington Hospital, where a 24-year-old female victim was located with multiple cut wounds. Police said the victim was in stable condition.
Authorities reported the investigation was assigned to Detective Thomas Rittenhouse, who identified 32-year-old Tramika Perkins as a suspect and obtained arrest warrants.
Police said officers executed a search warrant March 26 in the 500 block of Townsend Court, where Perkins was taken into custody without incident.
According to police, Perkins was charged with first-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.
Authorities reported she was arraigned and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $80,000 cash-only bail.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
