Wilmington Woman Arrested After Police Seize Heroin, Pills, and Over a Pound of Marijuana

WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington woman is facing multiple felony drug charges following a law enforcement operation that resulted in the seizure of narcotics, packaging materials, and cash, according to Wilmington Police.

Authorities said the arrest occurred on the morning of July 22, 2025, when members of the Crime Gun Intelligence Center and the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division executed search warrants at two residences located in the 1700 block of West 2nd Street as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

During the search, officers took 31-year-old Tanisha Nickerson into custody without incident. Investigators report they recovered approximately 680.2 grams of marijuana, 6.21 grams of heroin, 31 Oxycodone pills, along with drug packaging materials and $682 in cash.

Nickerson has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in a Tier 3 Quantity
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver – Two Counts

She was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $7,000 cash-only bail.

Police have not disclosed whether additional arrests or charges are anticipated as the investigation continues.
