Wilmington Teen Charged in Armed Robbery; Held on $45K Bail

WILMINGTON, DE — A 16-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with an armed robbery that occurred earlier this month in Wilmington, according to city police.

The incident took place around 9:00 p.m. on July 11, 2025, in the 1200 block of C Street. The Wilmington Police Department reports that the case was assigned to Detective Justin Wilkers of the Criminal Investigations Division, who led the inquiry into the alleged crime.

Through the course of the investigation, authorities identified a 16-year-old male as the suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. The juvenile was taken into custody without incident on July 22, police said.

The teen has been charged with the following felony offenses:

  • Robbery in the First Degree
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
  • Aggravated Menacing

Following arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 11, the defendant was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $45,000 cash-only bail.

Due to the suspect’s age, his name is not being released. No injuries were reported during the incident, and police have not disclosed whether the firearm involved was recovered.
