Wilmington Teen and Adult Charged in Bold Daylight Robbery on Maryland Avenue

TWILMINGTON, DE — Two individuals, including a juvenile, have been arrested in connection with an alleged daytime robbery that occurred last month on Maryland Avenue in Wilmington, according to local authorities.

Wilmington Police responded to a reported robbery on July 23 at approximately 12:31 p.m. in the 900 block of Maryland Avenue. Following an investigation, detectives identified two suspects: a 14-year-old male and 18-year-old Ahmiere Righter.

The juvenile suspect was taken into custody later that same day, while Righter was apprehended on July 29. Both individuals have since been formally charged.

The 14-year-old is facing charges of first-degree robbery and second-degree conspiracy. He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $21,000 cash-only bail.

Righter has been charged with the same offenses—first-degree robbery and second-degree conspiracy. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and is currently being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $62,000 cash-only bail.

As with all criminal proceedings, the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
