Wilmington Police Renew Plea for Tips in Unsolved 2017 Homicide

WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Police Department‘s Cold Case Unit is once again appealing to the public for assistance in solving the fatal 2017 shooting of 23-year-old Nycire Mills.

On the night of August 9, 2017, at approximately 10:37 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 600 block of North Pine Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Mills suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite emergency efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.

Eight years later, the case remains unsolved, and investigators continue to seek information that could lead to an arrest. Authorities are hopeful that renewed attention to the case may prompt witnesses or others with knowledge of the events that evening to come forward.
