Wilmington Police Identify Teen Victim in Fatal Shooting That Left Another Critically Injured

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have identified the teenage victim who died following a shooting earlier this week in the city’s East Side neighborhood.

Authorities confirmed that 16-year-old Nathan Lopez of Newark was the victim who succumbed to his injuries after the incident, which occurred around 5:07 p.m. on October 8, 2025, near the intersection of 6th and Pine Streets. A second victim, a 17-year-old male whose name has not been released, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Police say the investigation into the shooting remains active, with detectives continuing to gather evidence and interview witnesses. No arrests have been announced at this time.
