WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of two 15-year-old male juveniles following an investigation into alleged drug-related activity on the city’s west side earlier this week.
According to authorities, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were conducting operations in the 400 block of West 7th Street on September 23 at approximately 12:56 p.m. when they observed two juveniles engaged in suspected drug activity. Police said both were taken into custody without incident.
Investigators reported that one of the juveniles was found in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun. He has been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, as well as carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $7,500 cash-only bail.
The second juvenile was allegedly found in possession of 102.8 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned in Family Court and released on his own recognizance.
Both cases remain under investigation. Authorities emphasized that all individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
