Wilmington Police Arrest Man After Alleged Drug Deals Near Kirkwood Street

WILMINGTON, DE — A 44-year-old Wilmington man has been arrested on drug-related charges following an investigation by the Wilmington Police Department’s Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on August 19, 2025, at approximately 10:33 a.m. when officers were conducting operations in the area of Kirkwood Street and Taylor Street. Investigators say they observed a man allegedly involved in drug transactions and made contact shortly afterward.

Police identified the suspect as Donelle Harris. During the investigation, officers allegedly recovered 1.7 grams of crack cocaine and .24 grams of heroin.

Harris was taken into custody without incident and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $10,000 secured bail.

Authorities remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
