WILMINGTON, DE — A 27-year-old man is charged with drug and resisting arrest offenses following a foot pursuit Tuesday afternoon, according to Wilmington police.
Police said members of the Safe Streets Task Force located Jabri Hunter at approximately 3 p.m. February 17 in the 2300 block of Jessup Street. Officers attempted to make contact with Hunter, who allegedly fled on foot, police stated.
After a brief pursuit, officers took Hunter into custody without further incident, according to police.
Authorities reported recovering 122 bags containing approximately 3.66 grams of suspected heroin.
Hunter was charged with possession of a controlled substance — Tier 2 — and resisting arrest, in addition to outstanding charges, police said.
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $5,000 cash-only bail, according to police.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
