Wilmington Man Charged With Aggravated Menacing After Police Recover Loaded Firearm

WILMINGTON, DE — A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an alleged aggravated menacing incident in Wilmington, according to city police.

The Wilmington Police Department reports that officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of North Broom Street at approximately 8:18 a.m. on July 23, 2025, in response to a reported threat involving a weapon.

Upon arrival, officers located and detained Ysef Kallam-Crumpler without incident. During the course of the investigation, police recovered a loaded firearm in connection with the case.

Kallam-Crumpler has been charged with aggravated menacing, a charge that typically involves placing another person in fear of imminent serious physical injury through the use or threat of a deadly weapon.

Following his arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 20, he was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $2,000 secured bail.
