WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man has been charged in connection with a burglary reported earlier this week in the city’s downtown area, according to police.
Authorities say the incident occurred on August 13, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m., when officers responded to the 600 block of North Market Street for a reported burglary. Investigators obtained surveillance footage of a suspect and launched an active search.
In the early morning hours of August 14, at around 12:13 a.m., a patrol officer observed a man matching the suspect’s description near 9th and Orange Streets. Police identified him as 39-year-old Earl McKinney and placed him under arrest without incident.
McKinney has been charged with third-degree burglary and criminal mischief under $1,000. Following arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 20, he was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $10,000 secured bail.
