Wilmington Man Arrested After Alleged Robbery at Paladin Club

WILMINGTON, DE — Officers with the New Castle County Division of Police arrested a Wilmington man Wednesday night following an alleged robbery in the Paladin Club community, authorities said.

Police were dispatched at approximately 9:00 p.m. on October 8, 2025, to the 3700 block of Eastview Lane for a report of a robbery that had just occurred. According to investigators, a man wearing a black ski mask approached the victim while grabbing at his waistband, ordered the victim to empty his pockets, and then punched and struck him multiple times before fleeing into a nearby apartment.

A K9 team and multiple officers responded, established a perimeter, and began a search. Officers located a suspect matching the description at a nearby apartment on Eastview Lane. As officers attempted to contact him, the suspect allegedly tried to jump from a balcony and run but was taken into custody by assisting officers. Police identified the suspect as 22-year-old Devonte Garnett of Wilmington.

Garnett was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters and charged with attempted robbery in the first degree (felony), wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony (felony), and assault in the third degree (misdemeanor). He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and held in lieu of $57,000 cash bail.
