WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested a 41-year-old man following an investigation into an alleged assault that occurred over the weekend on the city’s west side.
Authorities said that at approximately 8:33 a.m. on October 25, officers from the Uniformed Services Division responded to the unit block of South Bancroft Parkway for a reported assault. The case was later assigned to Detective Avery Stewart of the Criminal Investigations Division for follow-up investigation.
Through the course of the inquiry, police identified the suspect as Todd Drozdowski, 41, and obtained warrants for his arrest. On October 28, officers located Drozdowski in the area of West 2nd and North Franklin Streets, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Drozdowski was charged with second-degree assault, arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11, and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
All charges are allegations, and Drozdowski is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
