WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested a 20-year-old man following an alleged aggravated menacing incident that occurred last week in the city’s west side.
According to authorities, on October 14, 2025, at approximately 3:31 p.m., members of the Crime Gun Intelligence Center were in the 400 block of North Madison Street when they observed a man reportedly displaying a firearm while arguing with several individuals. Officers identified the suspect as Courtney George and attempted to intervene.
Police say George fled on foot and resisted arrest before being taken into custody. During the arrest, officers recovered a loaded 9mm handgun and 77 rounds of ammunition.
George has been charged with aggravated menacing, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and resisting arrest with force. He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $23,000 cash-only bail.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
