Wilmington Man Apprehended in Alleged Drug Activity

WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Police Department has reported the arrest of a local man, Marquise Mcelderry, amid allegations of involvement in drug-related activities. The arrest took place on October 10, 2024, at approximately 2:05 p.m. During a routine patrol by the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division in the 400 block of East 4th Street, officers observed suspicious conduct believed to be linked to drug transactions.

Authorities made contact with the 28-year-old Mcelderry and took him into custody without incident. Upon investigation, officers found him in possession of 1.8 grams of crack cocaine. Following the arrest, Mcelderry was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver.

He was subsequently arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas, where he was released on $4,500 unsecured bail. It is crucial to emphasize that an arrest or criminal complaint is not evidence of guilt, as all individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
