WILMINGTON, DE — An altercation involving juveniles and an adult in the Kiamensi Gardens neighborhood has led to charges against a 22-year-old Wilmington resident and two 12-year-old girls. New Castle County Police responded to the incident on Monday, May 12, 2025, at approximately 3:25 p.m.
Authorities reported that the incident began as a prearranged fight between the two 12-year-old juveniles shortly after they disembarked from a school bus near Stanton Road and Henlopen Avenue. During the physical altercation, 22-year-old Mohie Slamaa allegedly intervened, striking one of the juveniles.
The incident escalated further when bystanders attempted to intervene. A 15-year-old girl, who tried to break up the fight, was reportedly shoved by Slamaa. An 18-year-old male bystander was allegedly thrown to the ground by Slamaa, who then bit and kicked him in the face.
Both injured bystanders were transported to a local hospital for treatment and subsequently released.
Following an investigation, police charged Slamaa with the following offenses:
- Assault 2nd Degree (Felony)
- Offensive Touching (Two Counts – Misdemeanor)
- Disorderly Conduct (Misdemeanor)
Slamaa was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released after posting $5,000 secured bail.
The two 12-year-old juveniles engaged in the initial altercation were also charged with one count each of Disorderly Conduct (Misdemeanor). They were arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on their own recognizance.
All individuals involved in this case are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
