WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police arrested a 30-year-old man Thursday afternoon after a vehicle stop led to the recovery of illegal drugs and cash, according to information released by the department.
Police say the incident occurred on November 27 at approximately 1:38 p.m., when officers with the Uniformed Services Division stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of North Monroe Street. The vehicle had been listed in an unauthorized use report. Officers made contact with the driver, identified as Marquie Brown.
Following what authorities described as a brief investigation, Brown was taken into custody without incident. Police allege the search led to the recovery of 21.26 grams of phencyclidine and $746 in currency.
Brown has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver in a Tier 3 quantity, as well as unauthorized use of a vehicle. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $10,500 secured bail.
All individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
