Upper Oxford Township Man Charged After Newark Road Crash

AVONDALE, PA — A 19-year-old West Grove man was charged following a single-vehicle crash on Newark Road in Upper Oxford Township on February 17, 2026, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Avondale.

Police said the crash occurred at approximately 5 p.m. on Newark Road (SR-896) southbound. According to state police, the driver, identified as Christian R. Stuhrke, was traveling south when his vehicle entered standing water, causing him to lose control. Authorities stated the vehicle traveled off the roadway, struck a utility pole and came to rest in a field.

Police reported that the vehicle’s front airbag deployed and that the driver was not injured. According to the report, Stuhrke was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic in connection with the crash.

In a separate incident, troopers responded February 12, 2026, at approximately 9:28 p.m. to the intersection of Newark Road and the U.S. 1 north on-ramp in Upper Oxford Township for a three-vehicle crash . Police said a Toyota Camry driven by a 48-year-old Oxford man allegedly attempted to pass a stopped vehicle on the right, striking a second vehicle and causing a chain-reaction collision. No injuries were reported. Authorities stated the Oxford man was charged with drivers required to be licensed.

On February 16, 2026, at approximately 11:30 p.m., troopers responded to East Nottingham Township for a reported domestic incident. Police said a 19-year-old Wilmington, Delaware woman allegedly struck a 20-year-old Oxford man with a bag containing crustacean carcasses and other items, causing lacerations. Authorities reported the woman was transported to Chester County Hospital and charges were filed.

Troopers also responded February 14, 2026, at approximately 2:16 p.m. to the 100 block of South Jennersville Road in Penn Township for a report of a mailbox theft. Police said a mailbox valued at approximately $20 was forcibly removed from its post. The incident remains under investigation.

On February 13, 2026, at approximately 3:38 p.m., troopers were dispatched to Walmart at 516 School House Road in East Marlborough Township for a retail theft in progress. Police said a 20-year-old Exton man allegedly attempted to leave the store with approximately $32.85 worth of merchandise. Authorities said charges will be filed.

Later that day, at approximately 4:03 p.m., troopers responded to Ulta Beauty at 861 East Baltimore Pike in East Marlborough Township for a reported retail theft totaling approximately $500. Police said the suspect fled in a dark-colored Hyundai sedan. The investigation is ongoing.

On January 31, 2026, at approximately 8:24 p.m., troopers responded to the 200 block of Spring Valley Road in Lower Oxford Township for a report of criminal mischief. Police said the roadway was damaged. The incident remains under investigation.
