Two People Shot in Broad Daylight on Spruce Street in Wilmington, Police Say

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police are actively investigating a double shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon in the city’s East Side neighborhood, leaving two individuals hospitalized.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Spruce Street at approximately 2:14 p.m. on July 26, 2025, following reports of gunfire in the area.

Upon arrival, officers located two gunshot victims: a 21-year-old male and a 37-year-old female. Both individuals were transported to a local hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.

Authorities have not released information regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting, potential suspects, or whether the victims were targeted. The investigation remains ongoing.
