NEWARK, DE — A routine traffic stop in Newark on May 29, 2025, resulted in the arrests of two Wilmington residents for alleged drug-related offenses.
Newark Police reported that the stop occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m., after officers observed motor vehicle violations. The occupants of the vehicle, identified as Luis Francisco Sanchez, 25, and Denny Fajardo Solano, 28, were subsequently detained following an on-scene investigation.
Authorities allege that both Sanchez and Solano were in possession of controlled substances, leading to charges for manufacturing, delivering, and possession with intent to deliver (PWID) cocaine and heroin. Additionally, both were charged with second-degree conspiracy. Sanchez also faces two separate traffic charges tied to the initial stop.
Both men were arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 before being remanded to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution. Sanchez was held on $25,000 cash bail, while Solano’s bail was set at $22,000 cash.
Police emphasized that all suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
