SHARON HILL, PA — Two 19-year-old men are facing multiple charges following an investigation into a stolen firearm that began in March and led to the recovery of illegal weapons and narcotics across two counties, authorities announced this week.
According to the Sharon Hill Borough Police Department’s Investigative Division, officers responded to a residential theft complaint on March 18, 2025, involving a missing firearm. Through the course of the investigation, police identified Menai Princ Moody, of Upper Darby, and Mickal James Balkcom, of Philadelphia, as suspects in what officials describe as a coordinated theft and illegal transfer of the weapon.
On April 17, 2025, search warrants were executed at both individuals’ residences. At the Upper Darby address, officers recovered the stolen firearm as well as a quantity of illegal narcotics. At the Philadelphia residence, police located another handgun, which was found to have its serial number obliterated — a violation of state and federal firearm laws.
Charges were filed on the day of the searches for the weapons and narcotics offenses. Additional charges related to the initial theft of the firearm in Sharon Hill were later approved as the investigation progressed.
The Sharon Hill Police Department was assisted by the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office Narcotics Task Force and the Pennsylvania State Police. Chief of Police Richard Herron Jr. commended the joint effort, citing the successful collaboration between all agencies involved.
The investigation remains ongoing.
All suspects and arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
