COATESVILLE, PA — Authorities are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred late Friday night, May 16, 2025, in the 700 block of East Lincoln Highway.
Officers from the City of Coatesville Police Department were dispatched to the area at approximately 11:51 p.m. following a report of an assault. Upon arrival, they discovered Stephen Johnson, a 45-year-old Coatesville resident, suffering from a single stab wound to the chest.
Johnson was transported to Paoli Hospital for emergency treatment but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Detectives from the Coatesville Police Department, with assistance from the Chester County District Attorney’s Office, are actively investigating the incident. Authorities have noted that several individuals were in the area when the stabbing occurred and are urging witnesses to come forward.
