WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man faces multiple charges following a traffic stop that reportedly uncovered drugs and firearms in his vehicle, authorities said.

On Thursday, June 19, 2025, at approximately 8:02 p.m., Detectives from the New Castle County Division’s Active Crime Trends Team initiated a traffic stop on a Nissan Altima near the intersection of Governor Printz Boulevard and East Lea Boulevard after observing a traffic violation. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Jaylin Greenidge of Wilmington, was the sole occupant of the car.

During the traffic stop, Detectives noted a handgun inside the vehicle. After Greenidge exited the car cooperatively, Detectives discovered several boxes of chocolate infused with psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana, and additional items of interest within the vehicle. Their search reportedly revealed a realistic replica of a Glock handgun and a separate, fully loaded authentic Glock firearm. Additional items seized included 28 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 25 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and packaging materials.

Greenidge was taken into custody and transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where he was charged with multiple felonies, including possession of a weapon and a controlled substance, possession of a firearm while previously convicted, and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Additional charges include possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and two Tier 3 controlled substance violations. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license and vehicle tinting violations.

Following his arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 11, Greenidge was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $50,251 cash bail.

Authorities stress that Greenidge, like all defendants, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Further details may be released as the case progresses.
