PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia police are asking for the public’s help to locate a 27-year-old man wanted in connection with two separate shootings involving tow truck drivers, including a fatal double shooting that authorities say unfolded weeks apart in different sections of the city.
The Philadelphia Police Department said Najee Williams is being sought in connection with a December shooting and a January incident that left two men dead and a woman wounded. Investigators have described Williams as armed and dangerous and warned the public not to approach him.
The first incident occurred Monday, December 22, 2025, at approximately 12:17 p.m., when officers responded to a call in the 4200 block of Torresdale Avenue. Police allege they found 20-year-old David Garcia-Morales inside a 2017 Ford F-450 Super Duty tow truck suffering from gunshot wounds to the neck and thigh. Garcia-Morales was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he later died from his injuries on December 26.
Williams is also wanted in connection with a second shooting that occurred Sunday, January 11, 2026, at about 7:52 p.m. Police allege officers responding to the 2100 block of Knorr Street found 25-year-old Aaron Whitfield inside a tow truck with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body. Whitfield was pronounced dead at the scene.
During that same incident, a 21-year-old woman was shot in the left leg, police said. She was transported to Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital and was listed in stable condition.
According to police, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office approved multiple charges against Williams on Wednesday, January 28, including murder, violations of the Uniform Firearms Act, conspiracy, possessing instruments of crime, and recklessly endangering another person.
Authorities said Williams remains at large and is considered a serious threat to public safety. Police reiterated that members of the public should not attempt to confront him.
As with all homicide investigations in Philadelphia, police said a reward of $20,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction. Anyone with information on Williams’ whereabouts is urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department’s tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
All charges and allegations remain under investigation. Williams is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
