WILMINGTON, DE — Three individuals, including two juveniles, have been charged in connection with two stolen vehicles discovered in the Riverview Place Apartments community late Saturday, June 14, 2025.
Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to reports of disorderly individuals at approximately 11:35 p.m. in the unit block of Golden Acres Drive. Upon arrival, they found a group gathered around a running black Kia Sportage, which had been reported stolen from Elsmere. A second vehicle, a bronze Kia Sorento stolen from Wilmington, was located nearby.
Police detained three individuals at the scene, identified as a 15-year-old male from Wilmington, a 16-year-old male from Elsmere, and 18-year-old Ronald Perkins, also of Wilmington. According to authorities, investigators linked the suspects to both stolen vehicles.
The 15-year-old was charged with one count of receiving stolen property, one count of second-degree conspiracy, and one count of noncompliance with conditions of a recognizance bond. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $1,750 secured bail.
Both the 16-year-old and Perkins face similar charges, including one count of receiving stolen property and one count of second-degree conspiracy. Perkins was arraigned and released on $4,000 unsecured bail, while the juvenile was released on his own recognizance.
Investigations into the incident remain ongoing. Authorities remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Further updates will be provided as the case progresses.
