Three Men Arrested After Wilmington Traffic Stop Leads to Gun Seizure

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have arrested three individuals, including a juvenile, after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of multiple loaded firearms on Sunday night.

Authorities say that on October 6, at approximately 9:44 p.m., officers with the Uniformed Services Division conducted a vehicle stop in the 1900 block of North Market Street. Police identified the occupants as 21-year-old Jeremiah Winder of Dover, 23-year-old Elijah Winder of Dover, and a 17-year-old male juvenile from Salem, New Jersey.

Following what officials described as a brief investigation, all three individuals were taken into custody without incident. Officers recovered two loaded 9mm handguns and a loaded 5.56 caliber rifle from the vehicle.

According to police, Jeremiah Winder was charged with two counts of carrying a concealed deadly weapon and one count of possession of a large capacity magazine during the commission of a felony, in addition to traffic violations. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released after posting $40,050 secured bail.

The 17-year-old male juvenile was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and providing a false statement to law enforcement. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $7,000 secured bail.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
