WYOMISSING, PA — Alleged thefts, an assault report, a sex crime investigation, and a hit-and-run crash were among more than 20 incidents handled by the Wyomissing Police Department on Thursday, January 16, according to the department’s official daily activity report.

Police logged a total of 23 incidents across the borough, ranging from alleged criminal activity and neighborhood disputes to traffic enforcement and public safety calls.

Among the more serious matters, officers responded just before 5:00 a.m. to a report of an alleged assault on Penn Avenue. Police documented the incident and noted that the suspected individual had already gone from the area by the time officers arrived. The case remained under follow-up investigation.

Later in the morning, officers were dispatched to the area of Spring Street and Granite Pointe Drive for a reported overnight theft. Police allege that various items were taken from the area, though the value of the stolen property had not yet been determined at the time of the report. The investigation remained ongoing.

During the evening hours, police documented a report categorized as a sex offense on Reading Boulevard. According to the log, officers responded to a complaint involving allegations that a 30-year-old man had engaged in sexual activity with a 15-year-old boy. The matter was listed as under follow-up investigation, and no additional details were released due to the sensitive nature of the allegations.

Traffic-related incidents accounted for a significant portion of the day’s calls. Officers conducted multiple traffic stops for alleged violations, including suspended registrations, lighting equipment issues, and improper lane usage. Several citations and warnings were issued, police said.

Police also investigated a hit-and-run crash reported along State Hill Road near Woodland Road during snowy conditions. According to the report, a vehicle making a left turn was struck by another vehicle that fled the scene. No injuries were reported, and the complainant was provided with documentation for insurance purposes.
