WYOMISSING, PA — Police responded to 23 incidents across Wyomissing on Monday, March 23, including a reported vehicle break-in, multiple crashes, and a traffic incident in which a driver nearly struck an officer, authorities said.
The day began at 7:23 a.m. with officers dispatched to Park Road North for a burglar alarm. Police arrived at 7:31 a.m. and reported the scene appeared secure.
At the same time, officers were sent to Berkshire Boulevard for a reported harassment incident. Police reported the situation was unfounded after arriving at 7:26 a.m.
At 8:33 a.m., another burglar alarm was reported on Crossing Drive. Officers arrived within minutes and confirmed with an employee that everything was in order.
Shortly after, at 8:36 a.m., police were dispatched to Penn Avenue for a reported hit-and-run crash. According to police, the striking vehicle was not identified, and no injuries or disabling damage were reported.
At 9:03 a.m., officers responded to Route 422 for a non-reportable crash, where both parties had already exchanged information prior to police arrival, according to authorities.
A reportable crash occurred at 9:45 a.m. at State Hill Road and Route 222. Police reported one driver was treated by EMS, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
At 11:05 a.m., police recorded Megan’s Law information regarding a subject working in the borough on Reading Boulevard.
At 11:37 a.m., officers were dispatched to Park Road North for an unconscious individual. Police said the person was already receiving care from emergency medical personnel upon arrival.
In the afternoon, at 2:25 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Penn Avenue near Park Road South, where a driver was warned for a window tint violation.
At 3 p.m., officers conducted an aggressive driving enforcement detail throughout the borough, issuing 12 citations and four warnings, according to police.
At 3:10 p.m., officers responded to Spring Street for a report of an abandoned electric bicycle near a storm drain. Police said the bicycle was seized.
At 3:47 p.m. and again at 3:50 p.m., police handled two separate non-reportable crashes on Berkshire Boulevard. In both cases, officers reported no injuries and that drivers exchanged information.
At 4 p.m., officers assisted Spring Township police with a 911 hang-up call on Commerce Drive, according to authorities.
At 5:05 p.m., police responded to State Hill Road for a report of a juvenile who had run from a parent in a parking lot. Officers reported the juvenile was located and returned to their family.
At 5:12 p.m., officers were dispatched to Route 12 for a reported reckless driver. Police reported the complaint was unfounded.
At 5:51 p.m., police responded to Cambridge Avenue for reports of individuals riding scooters and moving barricades. Officers reported no issues upon arrival.
At 5:55 p.m., police were dispatched to Delaware Avenue, where an individual reported their vehicle had been entered at approximately 1:30 a.m. that morning. Police said information was collected for follow-up.
At 6 p.m., officers hosted a “Meet the Chief” community event on Reading Boulevard attended by approximately 30 people, according to police.
At 8:31 p.m., officers responded to Berkshire Boulevard for a 911 hang-up call. Police reported no signs of an emergency and were unable to recontact the caller.
At 8:42 p.m., police responded to Park Road North near Hill Avenue for a two-vehicle crash with reported injuries. Authorities said both vehicles were towed from the scene.
While managing traffic at that crash scene around 9:08 p.m. and 9:10 p.m., police reported two separate incidents in which motorists allegedly failed to follow an officer’s directions and nearly struck the officer. Both drivers were cited, according to authorities.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
