PHILADELPHIA, PA — A 19-year-old Philadelphia man pleaded guilty Wednesday to federal charges tied to the possession of child sexual abuse material, including videos prosecutors say documented his own abuse of two young children.

United States Attorney David Metcalf said Isaiah Smith entered the guilty plea on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, before United States District Judge Mary Kay Costello, admitting to possession of child pornography.

According to the indictment and statements made in court, Smith maintained a collection of images and videos depicting prepubescent minors. Prosecutors said the collection included recordings Smith made while sexually abusing two victims — a six-year-old girl and a nonverbal three-year-old boy — on multiple occasions.

Authorities said the crimes came to light after a friend walked in during an assault involving one of the children and alerted law enforcement, leading to the discovery of the material.

Smith is scheduled to be sentenced on May 6. He faces a maximum possible sentence of 20 years in prison, with a mandatory minimum of five years, up to a lifetime of supervised release, mandatory financial penalties, and required registration as a sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act and Megan’s Law.
