Teen Suspect Sought in Late-Night Case Now Charged in Alleged Armed Robbery

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have arrested a 14-year-old male juvenile following an investigation into an alleged armed robbery reported earlier this month.

According to authorities, officers from the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 2300 block of Locust Street on November 8 at approximately 9:36 p.m. after receiving a report of an armed robbery. The case was assigned to Detective Avery Stewart of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his inquiry, Detective Stewart identified the juvenile as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest.

On November 18, at approximately 4:34 p.m., officers located the 14-year-old in the 2100 block of Locust Street. Police say he was taken into custody without incident.

The juvenile has been charged with first-degree robbery, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and second-degree conspiracy. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $21,000 cash-only bail.

Police stress that all charges are allegations, and any suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
