Teen Charged in String of Alleged Vehicle Thefts Across New Castle County

NEW CASTLE, DE — A 19-year-old New Castle man has been charged following a months-long investigation into a series of alleged vehicle thefts and attempted thefts spanning multiple neighborhoods across New Castle County.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police announced that 19-year-old Gianni Lolly was taken into custody on October 28, 2025, by the department’s Fugitive Apprehension and Surveillance Team. Investigators allege Lolly was connected to 13 separate incidents reported in 10 different neighborhoods.

According to police, the investigation began several months ago after a pattern of car thefts and attempted thefts emerged. Through what officials described as an extensive investigative effort, detectives identified Lolly as a suspect and linked him to the series of crimes.

Lolly has been charged with four felony counts of attempted theft of a motor vehicle, six felony counts of conspiracy in the second degree, six felony counts of receiving stolen property, four misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief, four misdemeanor counts of criminal impersonation, and one misdemeanor count of theft.

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed in lieu of $41,000 bail. Authorities say the investigation remains active and ongoing.
