Teen Caught with Loaded Gun During Wilmington Traffic Stop – Shocking Details Emerge

WILMINGTON, DE — A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged with multiple firearm offenses after a traffic stop conducted by Wilmington Police earlier this month.

On March 1, at approximately 1:02 p.m., officers from the Uniformed Services Division reportedly observed a traffic violation and conducted a vehicle stop in the 700 block of West 4th Street. During the stop, the juvenile driver was taken into custody following an investigation. Authorities discovered he was in possession of a loaded .40 caliber handgun.

The teenager now faces several charges, including possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, and possession of a large-capacity magazine.

The juvenile suspect was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $15,000 secured bail.

Officials remind the public that all charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
