Teen Arrested in Connection With June Shooting That Injured Wilmington Man

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have arrested a 16-year-old male in connection with a shooting that occurred earlier this year, following what officials described as an extensive investigation.

According to police, the incident took place around 9:18 p.m. on June 1, 2025, in the 1300 block of Linden Street. Officers from the Uniformed Services Division responded to reports of gunfire and located a 23-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The case was assigned to Detective Jessica Gledhill of the Criminal Investigations Division, who investigators said identified a 16-year-old suspect through the course of her investigation. Warrants were obtained, and on November 7, the juvenile was taken into custody without incident.

The teen has been charged with first-degree assault, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, second-degree robbery, first-degree reckless endangering, and criminal mischief under $1,000.

He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $44,600 cash-only bail.

Police remind the public that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
