WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested a 14-year-old male juvenile following an alleged firearm incident earlier this month.
Authorities reported that on October 7, at approximately 2:28 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were patrolling near West 5th and North Madison Streets when they observed a male acting in a suspicious manner. When officers attempted to approach him, the individual allegedly fled on foot.
After a brief pursuit, police apprehended the juvenile without incident. Officers said they recovered a loaded .380 caliber handgun during the arrest.
The juvenile has been charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
All individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
