WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington police have arrested a juvenile male in connection with an alleged robbery that occurred Tuesday night in a residential area of the city.
According to police, an officer assigned to the Special Operations Division responded at approximately 7:40 p.m. on January 20 to the 100 block of Burton Place following a report of a robbery that had just taken place. Investigators said the officer made contact with the victim and obtained a description of the suspect.
Through further investigation, police allege they identified a 13-year-old male as the suspect in the incident. On January 21, officers located the juvenile in the 500 block of North Madison Street and took him into custody without incident.
The juvenile has been charged with second-degree robbery and offensive touching. Police said he was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $1,100 secured bail.
All criminal charges are allegations. Any suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
