WILMINGTON, DE — Delaware State Police have arrested two teenage males from New Castle, aged 16 and 15, in connection with an aggravated menacing incident reported at the Miller Road Shopping Center on Monday, June 2, 2025.

Authorities responded around 11 a.m. to reports of multiple suspects chasing a group of teenagers with what appeared to be a firearm in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree, located at 3602 Miller Road. The investigation revealed that the victims, a group of teenagers, were approached by two acquaintances while walking toward the store. The suspects, later identified as the 16-year-old and 15-year-old, allegedly pursued the victims after one of them, the 16-year-old, pointed a black and silver firearm at the group. The victims fled into the Dollar Tree for safety as the suspects ran behind the shopping center.

With the assistance of Wilmington Police Department officers, troopers located the suspects and took them into custody without incident. A search uncovered a black and silver airsoft gun resembling a Glock firearm, which was linked to the older teen, and a kitchen knife found in the 15-year-old’s backpack.

The 16-year-old was charged with three counts of Aggravated Menacing and additional charges including Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Conspiracy in the Second Degree. He was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on a $36,000 cash bond following arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 11.

The 15-year-old, who reportedly became combative at Troop 1 during processing, was charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Conspiracy in the Second Degree, and Resisting Arrest. He was arraigned at the same court and held at the New Castle County Detention Center on a $24,500 cash bond.
