String of Bold Break-Ins Spurs Police Hunt for Suspect in Southwest Philly

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department’s Southwest Detective Division is investigating a series of residential burglaries believed to be committed by the same offender, spanning seven incidents across several neighborhoods in the Southwest Division.

The crime pattern, documented between late September and early November, involves break-ins during early morning or overnight hours, with the suspect allegedly entering homes through windows or unsecured doors and stealing electronics, wallets, clothing, and other valuables.

Incident 1 — September 27, 2025 (8xx S. Alden Street)
Around 3:30 p.m., an unknown individual allegedly entered a residence through a front window and stole electronics and clothing.
Suspect description: Black male, medium build, light complexion, chin-length dreadlocks, wearing a light skull cap and light pullover hoodie with a logo, carrying a large backpack.

Incident 2 — October 14, 2025 (9xx S. Conestoga Street)
Between 5:00 and 8:00 a.m., a suspect reportedly entered a residence and took a wallet and other items valued at $1,700.

Incident 3 — October 15, 2025 (9xx S. Conestoga Street)
At approximately 4:40 a.m., police say an unknown person returned to the same block and stole food items valued at $100. The complainant told investigators the suspect may have used a key stolen during the previous day’s burglary.
Suspect description: Black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants with white lettering, black sneakers, and a black backpack.

Incident 4 — October 17, 2025 (57xx Beaumont Street)
Sometime between 1:00 and 8:00 a.m., an unknown person allegedly entered a home through a front window and stole items valued at $3,000.

Incident 5 — October 20, 2025 (52xx Webster Street)
At 5:21 a.m., a suspect reportedly entered a residence through a basement window, stole items valued at $1,450 — including a wallet — and fled through the rear door.

Incident 6 — November 7, 2025 (57xx Beaumont Street)
Just after 3:00 a.m., an offender allegedly entered a home through the back door and stole a black MacBook Air valued at $1,000. The suspect triggered an alarm while exiting through the front door.
Suspect description: Black male wearing a black mask, dark clothing, black sneakers, and carrying a dark backpack.

Incident 7 — November 7, 2025 (52xx Webster Street)
At 5:44 a.m., residents were awakened by their dog and saw the suspect fleeing out the rear of their home. A brown leather backpack containing IDs, bank cards, and other items — valued at $800 — was reported missing.
Suspect description: Black male wearing a black mask, black hoodie, black pants, black sneakers, and a black backpack.

Investigators believe the same individual may be responsible for multiple break-ins based on similarities in method, timing, and suspect appearance.
