Storm Chaos, Hit-And-Run, And Drug Activity Reported

WYOMISSING, PA — Police responded to a range of incidents Monday, March 16, including suspected drug activity, a reported hit-and-run crash, and storm-related hazards, according to Wyomissing police.

At 12:59 a.m., officers responded to a burglar alarm on State Hill Road. Police reported the alarm was determined to be false after checking the property, with all doors secured.

At 1:59 a.m., police were dispatched to Berkshire Court for a report of a suspicious person. According to investigators, a male was located, identified, and left the area without incident.

At 1:34 p.m., officers responded to Wayne Avenue for suspected narcotics activity. Police reported that upon arrival, two males were allegedly found smoking, and marijuana was confiscated under Act 64. Charges are expected to be filed, according to authorities.

At 2:19 p.m., police responded to Route 222 near Crossing Drive for a reported hit-and-run crash. Investigators said no injuries were reported and the involved parties exchanged information while awaiting additional details.

At 2:26 p.m., officers were dispatched to State Hill Road for a disorderly conduct report. According to police, a complainant alleged a security employee grabbed her coat while attempting to stop her from taking coins from a fountain. Police reported the incident was documented at the request of those involved.

At 2:37 p.m., police assisted a disabled vehicle on Route 222 near Penn Avenue. Authorities said the driver had a flat tire, which was changed before the operator left the scene.

At 3:07 p.m., officers responded to Penn Avenue for a 911 hang-up call. Police determined the call was related to a prior medical incident handled by EMS, and no further assistance was required.

At 3:09 p.m., police responded to Park Road near Hillside Road for a reported controlled burn. The Wyomissing Fire Department handled the incident, according to authorities.

At 4:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to Route 222 near Paper Mill Road for a reported hit-and-run crash. According to investigators, a complainant stated their vehicle was sideswiped by a maroon sedan that fled the scene. Police said no additional information about the suspect vehicle was available.

At 5:03 p.m., police responded to a burglar alarm on Reading Boulevard. Authorities reported the alarm was triggered by employees.

At 7:59 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on State Hill Road near Berkshire Boulevard. Police reported the driver was warned for a violation involving daytime running lights.

At 9:58 p.m., police responded to Spring Street for a 911 hang-up call. Investigators said the call was accidental and no emergency was found.

At 10:12 p.m., officers responded to 7th Street near Wyomissing Boulevard for downed wires. The fire department handled the incident, according to police.

At 10:16 p.m., police responded to Berkshire Court for a burglar alarm. Authorities said the building exterior was secure with no suspicious activity observed.

Between 10:25 p.m. and 10:41 p.m., officers responded to multiple reports of storm-related hazards, including trees and branches blocking roadways on Wellington Boulevard, Cambridge Avenue, and Robin Road. Police reported the obstructions were removed and public works was notified where necessary.

At 11:21 p.m., officers were dispatched to Park Road North for a domestic dispute. According to police, the incident was not physical and both parties were advised to separate for the night.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
