HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA — A routine license plate alert led to a traffic stop that police say uncovered a stolen vehicle, stolen identification numbers, and drugs in Lower Moreland Township late last month.

According to the Lower Moreland Township Police Department, officers were alerted on January 22, 2026, after a stolen Pennsylvania license plate was observed on a silver Nissan Pathfinder traveling eastbound on Philmont Avenue from Huntingdon Pike. Officers responded to the area and located the vehicle in the 2800 block of Philmont Avenue.

Police said the driver was identified as Charles Parks, 29. During the investigation, officers allege Parks provided a vehicle title for a Chevrolet, not the Nissan Pathfinder he was operating, and was unable to produce a bill of sale or other proof of ownership for the vehicle.

Further investigation allegedly revealed that the vehicle’s identification number had also been reported stolen. Police also reported recovering drugs from Parks during the stop.

Parks was taken into custody and charged with receiving stolen property and possession of a small amount of marijuana. No additional details regarding bail or court proceedings were released.

All criminal charges and allegations are accusations only. Any suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
